Who reads this site
People who just learned their home may have a lead service line: homeowners, renters and landlords. Many arrive from a utility letter or a city inventory map. They want to know what the free program covers, how to test their water, and what to do while they wait.
This is a new site. It went public on Oct 15, 2026, so we don't have traffic numbers to share yet. We'll post them here, with their source and date, once we have a full month.
What the site covers (as of Oct 16, 2026)
- 24 city guides, including the 5 water systems with the most lead lines in EPA's 7th Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey: Chicago, Cleveland, New York City, Detroit and Milwaukee.
- Guides for all 50 states and DC, plus Spanish pages for Chicago and New York City.
- Every program fact links to the utility's or agency's own page and shows a Last checked date.
Placements
- Sponsored resource in the "test your water" or "certified filter" step on city and state guides. One sponsor per step. From $250 a month.
- Recommended tool listing on the filter and testing question pages. From $100 a month.
- Newsletter mention in our alert email, sent only when a program or rule changes. Included with the $500 a month bundle.
We can offer a lower-priced first month as a trial. Final terms are confirmed in writing before anything runs.
How sponsored items are labeled
- Every placement says "Sponsored" right on it, and the page carries our disclosure before the first paid link.
- Free official programs always come first. Sponsors never change program facts, rankings or our wording.
- Filters are listed only if the exact product is certified to NSF/ANSI 53 for lead reduction, checked on the NSF or IAPMO listing. Test labs must show their lab certification.
- No health claims, no countdowns or "act now" language, and no popups.
- We never share reader emails or data with sponsors.
