Who reads this site
People who just learned their home may have a lead service line: homeowners, renters and landlords. Many arrive from a utility letter or a city inventory map. They want to know what the free program covers, how to test their water, and what to do while they wait.
Traffic: this site went public on Oct 15, 2026, and we don't have meaningful traffic numbers yet. We won't quote estimates. Founding sponsors get real numbers each month (Cloudflare Web Analytics page views and newsletter list size), and the rates below reflect that the site is new.
Placements and founding rates
| Placement | What you get | Founding rate |
|---|---|---|
| Sitewide sponsor | A one-line text link labeled "Sponsored" on every page, plus a labeled mention in each alert newsletter issue that month | $49/month, month to month |
| City page sponsor | A card labeled "Sponsored" on one city guide, one sponsor per city | $99/month per city page |
| Newsletter mention | A labeled sponsor block in one alert email. We send alerts only when a program or rule changes. | $29 per issue |
You can cancel any month. There are no long-term contracts. Nothing runs until terms are confirmed in writing.
How sponsorship is labeled
- Every sponsored placement carries a visible "Sponsored" label, and the page shows our disclosure before the first paid link.
- Sponsored links use
rel="sponsored". - We never present an ad as editorial content or as our recommendation.
Editorial independence
- Free official programs always come first on the page.
- Sponsors never change program facts, eligibility, rankings or what any guide says. Sponsors don't review content before it's published.
- No health claims. Sponsor copy can't make them either. Health questions go to EPA, CDC, a doctor or the health department.
- We don't sell or share reader emails or data with sponsors.
Who we accept
Licensed lead service line contractors and plumbers, accredited water test labs, and makers of filters certified to NSF/ANSI 53 for lead reduction. We check the exact product on the NSF or IAPMO listing, and labs must show their certification. We decline anything that charges readers for free programs, sells reader leads, or makes health or "guaranteed" claims.
